Rutland School of English |
|
Rutland School of English, established in 1959, is a small, family-run School with a warm, friendly atmosphere, where you will not feel lost in a large crowd of other students. Because it is not a large School it feels more homely and you will soon get to know the Principal (Colin Spear), his family and staff personally. They will treat you as a friend and respect your wishes and opinions. This is the way the School has been running successfully for over 50 years. |

Registered with the Department for Education and Skills, the School is ten minutes' walk from a well-known tourist town of Margate. It's very near the beach, the countryside, Margate Station and bus stops to London and Canterbury. Margate is situated in the south east of England, where the weather is good, the beaches are lovely and the cost of living is not as high as in other parts of England. It's a very interesting and historical area and there are many great places to visit and several sights to see. A new art gallery has been built in the pretty little harbour.
Towns such as Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Sandwich, Dover and the City of Canterbury are very popular with students as places to visit whilst they are here, and they are all very easy to get to from Westbrook, Margate. The trains and buses are cheap and reliable. Just out of town there's a great new shopping centre, called Westwood Cross, which is easy to get to on the LOOP bus. You can get a MEGA-RIDER bus ticket for about ten pounds and travel anywhere in the area known as Thanet for a whole week! This makes travelling about and seeing the local sights very cheap indeed!
